After the raw material is mined, it's placed into a rotary kiln and fired at temperatures of approximately 2000° F.
After being fired in a rotary kiln, the resulting lightweight, ceramic material is cooled and conveyed for classification. It's during this phase of production the aggregate is crushed and screened into different sizes.
The material is further processed to very precise gradations, resulting in HydRocks®, a high-quality, lightweight compound that is inert, durable and tough.
